Although African philosophy emerged as an attempt to counter the Eurocentric hegemony of White-male dominated discipline of philosophy, it appears to have inherited its patriarchal inclinations. In the first episode of our podcast series, we had the pleasure of interviewing Akinfemi Makinde to discuss the depiction of Yoruba traditions in pop culture. Makinde shared valuable insights about Yoruba cosmology, ontologies, mysticism and metaphysics. We also delve into perceptions and practice of Yoruba traditions in the urban culture, digital spaces, and in diaspora communities.
This study investigated the impacts of floods on small holders in the Niger Delta region. It examines community resilience approach towards natural disasters.
